Insurance Coverage Request

We are seeking participant accident insurance specifically for our law enforcement training sessions. This insurance is not intended for the officers’ general law enforcement duties but solely for covering any potential injuries that might occur during the training period. Officers must be off duty during our training. This coverage does not extend beyond the training environment and does not cover any events that may occur in the participants’ personal lives or while they are on duty or supporting others.

By emphasizing the specific and limited nature of our insurance needs, we hope to clarify that we are not seeking coverage for law enforcement officers’ general duties but rather for the educational period during which they are under our instruction. This distinction is crucial for understanding the scope and nature of the risk involved.

Key points

  • Scope of Coverage: We seek coverage only for injuries sustained during training sessions in a controlled environment.
    1. During Seminars (1 hrs – 4 hrs)
    2. During Certification Training throughout the year. (1 hrs – 4 hrs per class)
  • Controlled Environments: Matted/Padded flooring with Qualified Instructors at all times. No Firearms, knives, tasers, pepper spray, k-9’s, slapjacks, blackjacks, police batons, or any other less lethal weapons are allowed into the Controlled Environment, including the members of LEO. Only Adult Police who have Joined or signed our waiver are permitted inside the Controlled Environment.
    1. Our Training Center (TBD)
    2. LEO Training Center
    3. Alternative Locations that meet the standards of our Controlled Environment.
  • Qualified Instructors: We have two levels of Instructors. Lead Instructors with more than 10 years and have reached Black Belt level in a style conducive to our system and Support Instructors with 5+ years and a certification to instruct.
    1. Lead – Brandon Wofford, 10+ years, Black Belt – Gracie Jiu-Jitsu
    2. Lead – Timothy Simmons, 48+ years, Black Belt – Okinawa martial arts – 5+ years Gracie Jiu-Jitsu
  • Distinction from General Police Duties: We are seeking participant accident insurance strictly for the training period of our law enforcement program. It is essential to clarify that the insurance is not for the officers’ general law enforcement duties but solely for covering any potential injuries that might occur during the training sessions within the controlled environments. Officers must be off duty during our training. The coverage does not extend beyond the Controlled Environment and does not cover any events that may occur in the personal lives of the participants or while they are on duty or in support of others. Our focus is on ensuring the safety of our students during their time in training, emphasizing that the coverage needed is confined to the educational environment we provide.
    1. Only Off Duty Officers may train.
    2. Coverage does not extend beyond the Controlled Environment.
