Objective:

Officers attempt to handcuff a Gabriel Protocol instructor within one minute.

Starting Position:

  • The instructor will start on their back on the ground.
  • The officer will start by touching the instructor.
  • A referee will say “Go”, and the one-minute clock will start.

Winning Condition:

The first officer to successfully secure both handcuffs on the instructor will have the first choice of available prizes: a firearm, an EDC tactical knife, or cash. The second officer to win may choose between the remaining prizes, and the third officer to win will receive the last remaining prize.

Additional Prizes:

Other prizes include a tactical knife and cash for standout performances.

Challenge Rules:

  • Officers must use standard police handcuffing techniques (no pre-learned BJJ or non-standard takedowns).
  • If the instructor gets up, gets back to their feet, or gets on top of the officer, that round is over.
  • If the officer fails to get the handcuffs on the instructor within a 60-second timeframe, that round is over.
  • If the officer successfully handcuffs the instructor, the round is over.
  • Each officer will get their turn at the prize of their choice, based on first signing up for the event and first successfully handcuffing the instructor.
  • The order of attempts will be determined by the online sign-up number. Officers must be present at the event start time to maintain their original order. Late arrivals will be reassigned based on arrival time, and there is no guarantee they will have an opportunity to compete if they are not in the queue at the event’s start.
  • Each officer will have one free attempt to handcuff the instructor.
  • If no prize has been won after every officer has had their free attempt, officers may pay $50 per additional attempt.
  • Female Officers: If a female officer wishes to participate and prefers a female instructor, we will provide that opportunity.
